Take the time to Learn!
The end of summer is the perfect time to step back and evaluate your business operations.
You have a month or so until the economic pressures pick up the pace in the fall.
It is tempting to pause and not make changes until after the Presidential election, November 6; but I caution you, year end will be here before you know it.
I agree our faulty economy is a serious distraction, but we can see that business owners and managers who survived the last four years marched along still focused on positive changes, cost cutting sharpness, and positive customer service.
Market share is there, albeit smaller and more competitive to secure, but it is there for those that persevere.
Here at the Chamber we have seen businesses close, employers down size and rift personal. An enormous amount of folks have lost jobs and have endured unemployment are now starting to work somewhere new.
We know that many folks are underemployed at the present, but I believe that is part of the process; a stop gap as businesses engage in a retooling process.
Ideally, those who are underemployed will take the opportunity to learn new skills, adjust to employers new needs and eventually work at a new potential.
There is a reason that all of our education partners are overwhelmed with students of all ages. The smart ones are learning those skills that will be needed in the future.
It can be exciting times while being a challenge as well.
Are you equipped to be ready???!!!!
